Home School Forest School Sessions

Developing physical, emotional, social, confidence & intellectual skills

Once a month we run Forest school sessions for Home educated children at The Shining Light Centre in St Helens. Forest school children can cook on a campfire, climb trees, learn how to use tools, play and make new friends.

Forest school can build confidence, physical, social, emotional and intellectual skills through meaningful outdoor experiences

Free Play

Free play is an important part of Forest school and develops physical, emotional, social, confidence and intellectual skills.

What is Involved?

Some great interactive games to help with confidence!

We will begin each session in the woods, where we will take part in Forest School activities. We will try activities like nest building, mud play, mini dens, Gruffalo hunts and much more. Children will then get the chance to take part in free play with other children. During free play children choose what they would like to do from a range of equipment and materials in the woods. We will then take a walk back to the farm and visit the animals on the farm.
